Asus L3500D + acpi

Hi all, I recently got the asus L3500D dalptop. I have successfully installed debian woody, with a 2.4.22-1-k7 kernel. Whoever I cant get acpi working, neither with the stock kernel, nor with one i pached and compiled my self. When I modprobe the asus_acpi driver I get an error message stating

YMH0800 (opl3sa2 module) causes laptop freeze

The Yamaha OPL-SA2 is causing system lockup after a few seconds of play. there are no errors in /proc/interupts or /proc/ioports and the card is on a ISA bus so i pnpdump and there is Nothing UN-commented, i need help geting this done. i bought this laptop for MP3 and WiFi it is an Acer Extensa 367
