I've got a small problem whih I cand't find solution for on the web.
I compiled a kernel 2.4.20, patched for ptrace and lots of acpi and
swasusp patches. Everything works, but the other day I realised that the
cd-dvd player doesn't work any more (I've got Compaq Presario 700). When

Hello,
I am busy installing debian unstable on my thinkpad R40, but the FN
key doesn't work.
What keymap should I use? It's a us qwerty keyboard, but I guess I
need a specific keymap.
I previously installed mandrake on the laptop and the FN key worked
right away.
Thanks in advance,

L.S.,

according to cat /proc/pci. In my XF86 config I use the "trident" driver.

Dear All,
Has anyone had success with the wireless card bundled with
the PCG-GRX616MP?
I'm using unstable with 2.4.21 kernel & pcmcia modules. A modprobe
orinico_cs doesn't return any errors, but iwconfig shows just
fox:/home/garret# iwconfig
lono wireless extensions.

Hi,
I have some trouble with my Laptop-Harddrive. Does anybody know why it

bootup?
ok, that's not a big problem. Because i can do a "hdparm -d 1 /dev/hda"
and then everything's fine but it's a bit irritating to me because it
