Soy nuevo en esta lista y acudo a Uds., porque no puedo solucionar mi problema.
Les comento, tengo una laptop Sony Vaio VPCEH con Debian Squeeze, funciona todo
menos las teclas que ajustan el brillo de la pantalla, ni tampoco funciona el
applet que ajusta el brillo, dice "

but I don't like very much ubuntu's focus on GNOME, so I'm trying to get

few years with Fedora and Mandrake (or what ever they call it now).

the SATA. I cannot configure the BIOS to go into Native PATA mode

Did you try noapic?
With APIC on, my FX301 does the same.
In linux.kernel there is a patch that works for me. It stops APIC
at reboot.
