USB is plug and play and is detected dynamically on connection and
disconnection. Maybe you could run a script when the USB mouse is
connected/disconnected ???

Check out www.dell.com for the latest prices. I really can't remember
how much I paid for mine.
As for how the card compares to others, I really dont know. But this
setup works well for me. I can move the laptop downstairs or even down
the garden.
Try the debian-powerpc lists. They might be able to help you too since
an Apple Airport is in use. I've used a PowerBook with debian and had
link speeds of 1 and 2 Mbps with Airport & Airport BaseStation (at least
thats what iwconfig showed).

or not. They could have a system scan to discover if the box is a laptop

IRDA port and my mobile phone, using Gnokii. I have to disable the
maestro3 module to get it to work.
Time to upgrade my kernel I think.
