card. when I have my 2.4.18 kernel pcmcia-core successfully installed i cannot
install the ds.o module. when i modonf the module it simply fails with a non
verbose argument. insmod is the same. the [rpm'd] manu

You didn't mention the configuration of /etc/irda.conf ,
set the SIR device etc. there and restart IrDA.
