Thank you by your answer. I'll try your suggestions, but I found a old message
(may
2000) reporting a similar problem in comp.os.linux.portable, and it seems this
one
occured by pcmcia support failure. So, I'll try to install a new version of
pcmcia-cs
too.

try it without the GATEWAY setting just leave it GATEWAY=""
then you should be able to ping computers on the net, first by IP then
by name (don t forget to restart pcmcia after changing network.opts).
