Two different apps. Kolourpaint is more of an mspaint clone, which is a very
different thing from a gimp replacement.
Kolourpaint doesn't do the advanced stuff krita does, so krita is necessary.
But there are times when the power of krita could b
Kaffeine doesn't work yet because it hasn't made the ABI transition yet.
There are other apps that haven't either, it's just a matter of waiting until
they do.
I compiled Kaffeine myself so I could keep it, though it wasn't only
impatience that led me to: I had to compile it myself to be abl
new ones once I find
them (the apt-get commands)

Just a follow up to this for anybody who's having issues. I'm not the original
poster, but I was having the same problem -- garbled MP3 playback in KDE
apps. I found the solution in my case, and it could be affecting other debian

ie, I want the "desktop" (i want kde icons on the desktop, and when I click a
folder icon on the desktop I want konq to open it), but I want to use
gnome-panel instead of kicker, etc.

Hi.
I recently installed off a KNOPPIX HDD install. Everything went fine.
I apt-get update, apt-get upgrade and everything is fine.
Then I apt-get dist-upgrade and it loads a bunch of stuff. Most
everything at this point seems fine except that "konsole" won't run
anymore. Returns a crash wizard
