Greeting all,
I had some problems with my kioslave::smb.
Since when I tried to use konqueror to browse a directory via
smbclient, the loading time is incredible long. Every time when
I want to fetch files from my sharing folders on the other
computer, I have

Is it possible to specify the "Times New Roman" font as a substitute for
the "Times" font, especially in Konqueror?
For example, at www.nytimes.com there is an "AP and Reuters" section
along the right border, which displays ugly fonts in Konqueror. I
believe this is due to the "Times" font being u

Either export QTDIR=/usr/share/qt3 or hack the rules file to append
--with-qt-includes=/usr/include/qt3

I have to say that the Qt/Embedded packages were rather maintained poorly.
This was mainly due to my lack of usage of them. (A very good reason people
should only maintain that which they use) Another reason was that there was
no feedback from any users of what was working/not working with them.

I decided to map konqueror to one of the extra buttons in my
so-called "multimedia" keyboard. The problem is that if I press
the button too long several instances of konqueror are

I fixed my own problem by adding the following entry to

Hello,
I have problem installing KDE3.1 packages from unstable distribution.
Basic installation of KDE is ok, but when adding some applications like
Krusader, Knotes etc. in dselect, they require older version of kdelibs and

KDE3.1 is about to remove.
Some packages depends on kdelibs4 and s

Hi
I'm having massive problems using the qt-embedded packages currently available
under debian.
I can compile a small "Hello World" application (shows just one QPushButton)
with libqt-dev (2.3.1-22) on my woody based system and this works as
expected.
After that I compiled the same app with l
It has been a while since I have installed kde3.1 from sid and everything that
is there works great.
I obtain kmail from kdenetwork packages of cheney, but I did not realize until
today that kaddressbook was not in the packaging. I hope we can get that
soon. In the mean time, does anyone know

Hi Ralf,
thank's for the answer. I'm a bit worried about that, because my application
need OpenGl suport, and althought it's a pure qt application, I'm trying to

The new (i.e. KDE 3.1) kdm takes an inordinately long time to startup on
my system. After the switch to X, there's a delay of 15 to 30 seconds
until the login screen (kdm greeter) appears. During this time, there's
heavy activity on the disk.
My best guess is that kdm is exhaustively searching
Hi all,
I have this problem, I would like to set up different path, than standard
and I want all applications and users to have this path in it's enviroment.
I made changes in /etc/profile /etc/ligin.defs /etc/bash.bashrc
but path in Kile is still the same (doesn't contains my addons).
Can anybody
