This frequently happens with the NetBeans installer if DISPLAY is not
set and/or you have no rights to access the display.
Try running another program to verify... mozilla for example.

To provide some assurance that NetBeans can indeed work on
Debian, I just (today) started running NetBeans on Debian using
Blackdown's J2SE 1.4.1 (beta) package, and it works well.
Have you tried setting JAVA_HOME to the appropriate value?

My runtime lib is the Sun's original, not some package from debian. on
slackware it runs sucefull, but on debian it doesn't rocked.

There are some (well, a lot of!) packages from jakarta but struts
isn't packaged

There are some (well, a lot of!) packages from jakarta but struts
isn't packaged

The /usr/lib/jni proposal is now implemented in sid for gij and sablevm,
patches are still available for other JVMs, a policy patch has been provided
and this has received two seconds and no disputes.
