I sovled this by running dpkg-maintscript-helper (rm_conffile) for
/etc/default/masqmail too.
This makes a Backup named masqmail.dpkg-bak, for the old file wich was
not part of package and created by debconf(1).

The very same subset of tests fail in a current sid chroot (that is,
