this hit me too. all the timestamps correlated with the logrotate
process. have changed to nocreate in logrotate.d/exim-base.conf

The bitmap program (xbase-clients) is basically umusable in TWM. The
drawing pad on the right doesn't respond to clicks, the buttons on
the left and the menus seem to work however.
Bitmap works fine in other window managers, earlier
the problem is resolved... I hadn't logged out since before I upgraded
xbase-tools and twm...
after killing that session and restarting everything all is working again.
