I got a webcam which is working under gnomemeeting. When I start
camorama I only get a window where it is written "could not connect to
tvideo device /dev/video0à. Please check connection" but no problem for
gnomemeeting.

appears that devmapper requires an update for 2.6.12 compatibility?
