Today I tested a beta2 netinst cd installation on a system
with an already existing windows xp.
The installation went fine so far,
including:
- win32-loader to start the debian-installer in graphical mode
- resize of the ntfs partition
Regarding bootloader installation: I was told that windows

As the title says, the initrd is missing the pata_cmd64x modules
resulting in the CD-ROM not being found. After setting up an ip adress
with busybox and transfering both ata&pata udebs over netcat, I could
manually modprobe pata_cmd64x and then the installation completed
successfully. F
I did, yes. For some reason the bug was filed twice, once with the
partman attachment, and one (this one) without which was incorrect. I
thought the close command closed bugs, or am I mistaken?

right, (c) doesn't quite work, because delayed allocation meant that
the writeout didn't take place until the fsync() for each file
