I am trying to install on a ancrypted partition and I get similar error (wrong
device number for root partition), but the device numbers are the other way
round - /dev/root points to major 253 while the real device (crypt_sda2) is
major 254.

it is getting compiled for i386 .
but i want to compile for AMD64 so given build command as #make all_build
ARCH=amd64
for this command it is giving this package error

not appear on default installs (either graphical or not doesn't really
matter).
