Correction: The issue occurs only in graphical and text modes of
installation, but not in liveCD. LiveCD installation (somewhat)
correctly warns about the lack of space (says 10G is needed)
It should have been:
d-i debian-installer/language string en
d-i debian-installer/countrystring CH
d-i debian-installer/locale string en_US.UTF-8
The fallbacklocale was just copy+paste of my last attempt to overcome this
problem...

The SparcStation 5 have CD-Rom drvie but it's broken (don't mount any CD).
The SparcClassic simply don't have Cd-Rom drive. I tried via floppies but it
was pain in the neck. I'm just installing it via tftp image.

Hi,
I'm looking for something really particular. I'm trying to correct the
debian sarge installation script and maybe adapt it to archive.debian.org as
it's main mirror. It seems when the installation script was created the

Correction: keyboard actually works in the system installed using
Squeeze beta1, but not in installer itself. There is a kernel version
difference, installer has 2.6.32-25 while installed system ends up
with 2.6.32-27. Trying to figure out whether this makes a difference
now.

I realized I mistated the situation in my first report. /boot is on a
RAID1 device created at the same time as the RAID1 device for the LVM
volume group. When LVM is activated, partman loses
the fact that a device is associated with /boot.

The image which is missing is root.img, not boot.img.
Looking at build_floppy_root.log

It does seem as if the required files cannot fit on a single floppydisk anymore.

Ahhh
First of all, when trying to boot my system after installing the S-ATA

Secondly, the first try to write GRUB to (hd0) from the rescue menu

In the documention, for hppa, the cpu is named PA/RISC. But, officially,
the good way is PA-RISC (cf http://www.debian.org/ports/hppa)
I think that a sed "s/PA\/RISC/PA-RISC/g" should be enough to correct

I seem to have been looking at the wrong kernel-config file; on
double-checking, I find that the "compact" flavor has only SERIAL and
SERIAL_CONSOLE, but *not* SERIAL_NONSTANDARD -- which sounds like what I
need.
I'll try installing the "vanilla" flavor, and see if that solves the
problem.
