No, I'm broken. I misunderstood the reportbug manpage. I also filed this bug as #266821 (install-report). My apologies if you feel this is too much; feel free to delete/close either bug report. The actual bug report follows: I used the German translation of the installer from http://debian-amd64.alioth.debian.org/install-images/sid-amd64-netinst.iso downloaded 17.8.04 A problem with the UI: I first forgot to plug the power cable into the HD and of course it was not recognized. The installer ignored not finding any HDs and the partitioning dialog was thus quite confusing to me. I couldn't figure out how to proceed (since the HD was missing, so were the necessary menu options) and everything appeared a bit odd. I had to go to the command line to look around and finally realize my mistake. After correcting that and restarting the installation process the partitioning dialog made sense. It would be good to warn the user that no HD was found (and perhaps not go into the partitioning dialog since there's no point anyway), or rework the dialog so it is understandable that there is a problem (and its nature).
