The package "gnome-desktop-environment" only "Suggests: gnome-audio",
and so will not install gnome-audio by default during the debian lenny
install.
Would I be correct in saying that the debian-installer would have to be
configured to include gnome-audio for it to be installed. Ha
This is the output after I manually installed gnome-audio.
If you want me to do a rebuild without installing gnome-audio, I can do
that and send in the response ?

I would like to revert r56948 unless there is something I don't see. As
far as I can remember this change increases the size of the precompiled
keymaps by many times. The precompiled keymaps will be used by udebs on
the boot media of d-i, so they have to take as little space as possible.
