I have some bad news about my ability to fix the bug in 'nwutil', and
continue my (however modest) involvement in the arm port in the
future.
My netwinder "blew up" last week. That is, I came home one day, and
it had not only destroyed the power supply (the one that converts to
12V DC), but also

Lots of programs seem to segfault on startup nowadays. 'named' from
bind9, 'djscripts', 'in.rexecd', 'telnet', to take a few examples.
The funny thing is that by rebuilding some of these programs on my
own, they work fine. No modifications, simply a rebuild. But when
the next version gets down

Ok. Unfortunately the patches I sent you earlier don't build an X
server for ARM, so I will do what you just said.

Not easily. :-/
You need to have a netwinder

asked this brilliant question. :-/
There are three different errors. I will go through them now, and if

Will tomorrow be fine? I'm now building GCC, which needed to be
updated for libc6-dev. :-/

I shall give it a try.

One more thing to keep the machine cool, even without a fan: use
"noflushd" to turn off the harddrive when not in use.

The problem is specifically `non-us' packages. I would if I could,

In the previous version of dhcp(c)d, I had created a NMU with some
changes to make the checksum calculation correct. (Basically,
sizeof(ether_header) turned out 16 instead of 14 due to alignment
stuff).
I filed a bug report to the maintainer. Perhaps that got lost. I
will redo the change and
'mesag-dev'
There is actually a search page:
http://www.debian.org/distrib/packages
On the last section, you can type in any file name, and it will be
sought for in all packages.

Dunno, but I've had 'kernel-image-2.2.17-netwinder' sitting in the
Incoming directory for a month now. Still not installed. :-(

Netwinder?
I can't get the 'tulip' driver to boot up without causing a kernel
crash. Insights?

Sure..
I am the cause of that /Image thing, and it had to do with an earlier
version of the NeTTrom not being able to read /vmlinux. I have not
tried this in later versions, and anyway think that your idea about a
switch is cleaner.
So, if you have that influence, please. :-)
