Because that will never fix speech-dispatcher. If spd-say does not work,
nothing else on top of it will work, it's speech-dispatcher that needs
fixing, it can't be papered over.

Hello All,
Thought I'd ask here, since Ubuntu-Mate is a fork of Debian.
I installed Ubuntu-Mate 24.04 in a VM, and it was talking with espeak-ng.
Then I installed Voxin-3.4 and the IBM voice spoke after running the
voxin-installer, and I rebooted, and now there is no sound from Orca.
The
peaks again.
