I think this, "outsourcing to the participants" is very much the wrong
attitude.

have to provide a person that goes to each of the tables, scans the

I would prefer the meal ticket alternative, for the following reasons:
1) The barcode scanners are cool in theory but in practice they seem to be
a hassle and also pretty cost intensive. Also, to make sure things work
out even if the scanner system f***s up we'd most likely have t
