i just wanted to report that it was really a lack of system resources. i
upgraded the whole machine (celeron 1700, 256mb ram), installed the cvs
version of dbmail (~20.jan2k+3) and move my mail faster with the
imap-client than local.
does anyone of you fetch your mail with fetchmail and p
You need more RAM quite badly.. This is most likely the cause of the
slowness of the machine. Its swaping alot.

ally never used IMAP, but - what
client application(s) are you using? Does it happen in just one, or
several? Is pop3 performance acceptable, or is it slow too?
