I just started to play around with dt 'behind the scenes' a bit more and
noticed some things that I'd like to discuss - first, to get an idea why
things are like they are and second because probably I'd like to change

regarding 1) that issue is not limited to tagging but general darktable
behavior. We are discussing an alternative right now here:
