I think I now have it figured out.
I had another try at editing my generated presets.json file for the K-1,
in accordance with what exiftool tells me is in the exif file, and running
'darktable --noiseprofiles ./presets-K1.json -d control | grep
noiseprofile' does indeed give me access to th

Not having heard anything helpful on this post (below) I have investigated
further, as best I can.
Firstly, the exif data written by the K-1 is a little different to
previous Pentax models.
The maker is now "RICOH IMAGING COMPANY, LTD", and the model is "PENTAX
K-1", so my guess
