Randy,
My daughter makes a point about chasing C&C owners to pitch them to make sure
they get the boat's name painted in that spot in the Cove Stripe.
So, Look Out - she'll be after you . . . . . . . . . .

Good morning!
Didn't know if any of you might have some suggestions for a good swing arm

expensive! Are there any other models out there that might be a bit more
reasonable in price? The Rams do look quite sturdy and
I could do that. I use decals from BoatUS Graphics, and could order two boat

I bit the bullet and bought the RAM mount.
It wasn’t that bad, though. I bought a 1” handlebar mount + a double socket arm
($27 for the set) + round plate with ball ($15). The prices are current; I
think I paid a bit less. So for $45 you have a very solid mount that attaches
to the binnacle gua

I did a race in 25 - 32 knots TWS, gusts to 47.
Highest I saw this year was for about 90 seconds or so in a squall,
readings to 52 knots steady. It increased, guessing over 55,
but I couldn't read the instruments anymore. During the peak
the boat was shuddering very noticeably.

You are using a #3 in 55 knots?
For me going to windward that would be the storm jib. 55 with the 100% jib
would have my rail under I think. OTOH I flew the 100% with 50 gusting 60+
downwind and held a steady 10-11 knots boat speed while watching huge chunks of

Charlie,
It's been a oldie but goodie topic on this list, but the proper way to
torque the keel bolts is with the boat on the hard, in which condition
the bolts are unloaded and torquing to spec gives the proper preload

For my tiller boat I put a beefy RAM Mount on the cockpit's port bulk head,

I have a Tiller. I was thinking port side as well. My compass is mounted on
that side but that shouldn’t be an issue, correct?
Thanks for the pics! I’ll check them out now!

We also have a Classic Car Museum. We could have the event on the weekend of

Approx. 12 years ago, a club member took his Kirby 25 to an auto paint
shopthey painted the boat a 'dark green', a GMC truck color auto
paint. sprayed several coats, nice paint job.
We wondered how it would hold up. It still looks quite good after
seasonal exposure to the elements.
