financial decision, used diesels commanding an unreasonable (IMO) premium
over the A4. An old motor is an old motor...
That being said, I would prefer to have a shiny new diesel any day. I

Yes - are a big factor here. I replaced my engine for $1500 and one day's
work. No way to even come close to that with a new diesel.
The other big thing is comparing like with like. A brand new Moyer A4 would be
vastly superior to the original diesel that some 35 MK 1s came with back in

gasoline engines, so the explosion rate is quite low.
