I have a 37 and have seen drawings with short jib tracks set forward on the
cockpit coaming, just inside and above the main jib tracks. I have extra
jib cars and track laying around and am considering adding these, but have
heard they really don't make a difference.
Do others use these? Wha
My 35/3 has them. Yes light air. Less than 10 knots you will point higher.
Even with a 135 they help.

Pete,
I have them and love them. In wind under 12kts they are the bomb. We point
several degrees higher when we use them. I can only sheet my #1 to them.
They are too far aft for my #2 (142%).

You might look at the hull form of the 30-1. I have noticed when powering or
when sailing fast that my stern drops into the water and there is a lot of
turbulence behind the boat, which must be creating a bunch of drag. I have
dreamed of adding a scoop to raise the overall length to about 33 fee
I spent 35 years just keeping Honey in bristol condition. At the end of the

less expensive...

Hi Pete,
Our boat has the inner tracks, but we haven't taken the time to evaluate them.
I'm told they are supposed to be used in light air when you want a big belly in
the sail. The inner track lets you tension the leech properly with less on the
foot so the shape is fuller down low. The usable

Your observations are good.

Hi Gary,
We had two boats at the Club with similar treatments.

enclosed sweeping reverse transom (which we called a drake's tail)...
but it ruined the boat for one design racing.

On my C&C 24, when we have days like that we "slowly" sail across Lake Champlain
