There's an outfit called Hitchcock which specializes in wide sizes. I don't see
dedicated sailing boots in their flyer, but they have many other wide boots.
They are at www.wideshoes.com or 888-599-9433 and may know of some other
supplier.

Try Dubarry of Ireland, expensive but IMHO simply the best seaboot out

I have duck feet and have never found sailing boots that fit. Then I
remembered all the times I spent an entire day diving in 60F water or
standing on deck in the rain, and picked up a pair of dive booties. The

Did the inspection, boat was in reasonably good shape, but the auction
closed and we don't know if our folks were the high bidder.

Hi,
The
drains are what they are! A very bad design and unless you want
to make them bigger which
means a lot of work you are stuck with
the design. I don't remember having
water in the cockpit while sailing. I checked with Kevin, another Redline 25
owner, and he says no pro
For those interested, the Detroit 35-1 group did not buy the 35-1 on eBay.
Some members of the group are, however, getting together to formulate a plan
and funding should another 35-1 become available.
They are trying to expand their one design fleet in the Detroit area. Their

Good job guys on being proactive with your fleet. I'll keep my eyes open for

Sebastien,
I borrow a torque wrench and the associated sockets and extensions from the
local bus company garage (any heavy equipment mechanic will have the
stuff). The torque wrench I borrow is about 5' long as my 3 largest keel
bolts are 1-1/2" dia and take a 2 -1/4" socket and need to be torque
Never had one... but I'm lounging about watching 'Goldfinger' and
really regret selling my Aston Martin back in 1962. (That was a joke...
I was four in 1962.)
Do old Atomic 4's need leaded gas? I've always wondered.

Moyer claims the compression of the Atomic 4 is so low the valves do not
require the lead previously added to gas. I've run mine without leaded
gas for about two thousand hours since rebuilding it and the compression
is about the same.

Ken,
Perhaps where you live the bus company (etc) is that trusting and generous.
I'm jealous and maybe I should move (actually not...I like living by the Cape).
In the meantime...down here...I rented a honkin' torque wrench from a tool
rental company and bought the socket online.

Alan,
Don't stop with checking just the fuel hoses. My 1986 Landfall 39 had very
badly "weakened" deck drain hoses. Looking at them, I would never have
guessed how weak they were.
I bought the boat about 2 months ago, and just had it surveyed after doing
a fair amount of work in preparati
Bought our 1990 boat in 2002. Replaced all hoses on the engine cooling, bilge
pumps and head over the first winter, every hose except the engine exhaust.
Better than a good insurance policy and 10% the cost. Definitely do the head in
winter; cut it out and throw away.

I prefer the interior layout of the 1989 37/40 with an aft cabin queen sized
bed to the 1980 40 footer, which is much narrower in the stern. You pay a
little more, but resale will be better. There was a 37R wich is pretty spartan,
