How often are we supposed to change tranny oil?
In days of yore, with a car, we never changed. Of course now the new cars
are suggesting every 40kmi. My '91 Camry
My '91 Camry had no requirement for that.

I've always just used a good grade of straight 30W oil, per the manual; but my
transmission's a Paragon, not Yanmar.

Yep, I have seen this and the engine manual shows the same thing; it
doesn't take much. I have changed it before and used regular engine oil
from the auto parts store because that is what the previous owner marked in
his maintenance log, but I wanted to make sure.
