What is your RPM? If the pitch is too flat (low),  it is like being stuck in 2nd gear. You will accelerate well and have plenty of reserve to punch through chop, but redline RPM will give you some speed lower than hull speed. If the pitch is a little too coarse (high), you will hit hullspeed

Hi Joanne, I don't recall anyone offering the simple solution... take the prop to the local prop shop. They will have a gauge that can read the pitch of your prop. Bear in mind that is only a starting point if you are not replacing in kind. I don't know about the urethane perfect pitch props

Joanne — if you’re in fresh water, you shouldn’t need anodes at all. The only reason I have one on my prop shaft is to keep it from backing out of the hull if the coupler comes loose. If you’re seeing that much corrosion in fresh water, there are probably some serious electrical issues in your
