In a storm here a couple years ago boat A broke loose and hit boat B. Boat
B tried to collect from Boat A's insurance (X). Boat A's insurance X said
"Act of God" and did not pay. Boat B's insurance (Y) paid for the damages
(less deductible). Boat B sued Boat A to get deductible back. Boat B lost.
Too late for the OP now, but this is a good reason to have hull insurance, even
if you have a low hull value and high deductible. Your company will naturally
NOT want to pay the claim, so their lawyers will be after the clam boat or
whatever hit you at their expense.
My insurance is about $550/y

Chuck,
I am an attorney but have never stayed at a holiday inn express. SO consider
this advice worth what you have paid for it.

dockage - this is going to be governed by marina agreement. I would guess
there is language about if the docks become unusable due to whatever (act of
god).
Chuck,
I'm not an attorney (but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express one
night). But, yes, the previous post is the way to go. Your friend contacts his
insurance company, they contact the clam boats' insurance company and down the
line. And yes, he should get a local attorney who is well

Sound advice. The clam boat and or his insurers will be responsible or pass the
liability up the line (provider of moorings etc)

Chuck,
He should check with his insurance company to get some advice even though
he only has liability coverage. If he knows who insures the clamboat, he
should make a claim and if he gets no satisfaction he can get help from the
state insurance commissioner. Wish I could give you an answer, but
During Hurricane Sandy, in Atlantic City two 80 ft commercial clamboats broke
loose from their docks and drifted down onto my friend's boat. The clamboats
did a lot of damage, scarred his hull, and destroyed the docks so he lost his
slip, which he paid for in advance. He lives aboard and though
