Bill,
My 1977 C&C 26 had a holding tank when I bought her about 10 years ago.
But it wasn't original, it had been retrofitted.
The tank is under the V berth. Plumbing goes from head to tank (via loop and
vacuum break) to discharge. No Y valve.
My manual says the original was self contained too.
Bill,
Congrats and welcome!
Sounds like the tank was retrofitted. Not unusual for a boat built in the
70s. I'd have the tank pumped, check the hoses and diverter valve and test
the head. It may be fine as is.
