Bill, My 1977 C&C 26 had a holding tank when I bought her about 10 years ago. But it wasn't original, it had been retrofitted. The tank is under the V berth. Plumbing goes from head to tank (via loop and vacuum break) to discharge. No Y valve. My manual says the original was self contained too.
