worked for A&H and was the designer of those hatches. 10 years later, no leaks

It is a do-it-yourself project even for someone like me. You can order the
parts from A&H. Luckily, it seems like everything is available. The
gasket is 1/2" round foam and is held in with silicone. You can probably
buy it cheaper from McMaster or a similar vendor.

I bought a C+C 38 MK1, 1976, this summer and I think the forward hatch needs
refurbishing. It looks like an Atkins and Hoyle Hatch and it would need new
gasket, handle assemblies, etc . . . has anyone done this work? Can I do it
myself or should I send hatch back to A+H. Would rather not
