pound battery. An 8D battery box will hold 3 group 24 batte

There is no simple answer to this.
I’ll start with the easy part – for *non life-cycle cost* issues, flooded loses
big time.
We used to have flooded batteries and during Hurricane Charlie one of them
broke open. The smell was an extra special treat and then some and that is
before you add salt w

Peter,
Your problem is very likely a very small leak in your fuel system. Your starter
turns until the system is primed and it will stay fine for few hours, but then
air gets in again.
I experienced this problem before, my leak was at the secondary fuel filter.

Nice, they do seem the cost effective way to go.
In your experience do weak batteries make diesels hard to start. Two weekends
after sitting all week the starter turns but there is no ignition but there is
smoke. Finally on the 4th time it starts and has no issues the rest of the day

I also use flooded. I only use Delco Voyager batteries. They seem to be a
favorite of professional bass fishermen.
I get 7-8 years service life for about $110 a battery.
