I still put a laptop, portable VHF and GPS in the oven when lightning is
nearby, but have never been hit. I sleep with my head two feet away

ever know if the oven trick worked.

sextant box. But it occurs to me that it might be toast, too, in the event of a

recommends mixing in a handheld VHF.
