Burnside Fiberglass color matched a can of gelcoat for a 35 C&C a couple of weeks ago (cabin top) which was a very good match. He had to make several attempts before getting it just right, but he kept going until it was right. I was very happy with the match.

I've had success with penetrating oil applied over a few days. After the second day a used a pipe wrench to rotate the stanchion a micro turn one way then the other way (while applying even more penetrating oil). On the third day it popped out no problem.

I use super lube synthetic grease on the rudder bearing. My LF38 has a grease nipple at the lower bearing with a hose attached...the hose is routed over to the stbd lazerette and has another grease nipple attached to it. This setup allows me to easily grease the rudder from the lazerette.
Hi I use 65 ft 1/2" genoa sheets which seem to work well. I tried 5/8 one year but found them to heavy and went back to 1/2".

I had two Kidde brand extinguishers on the boat and both were confirmed to be unsafe for use. The company is sending two new extinguishers along with disposal instructions for the old ones. The old ones were from 1985 and 1996.

Mine does the same...it's my practice to start the engine, than the furnace, than shut the engine off after a bit. The Heater draws a lot of power on the start cycle and unless you have a large house bank, it will under power and fail to light off.

Thanks for the link...very handy for when I might need to do a little tinkering with the furnace. Mine's appears to be working fine right now.

My Landfall has the Yanmar 3QM30...on the odd time the ignition goes dead it's because of a dirty fuse connection...there is a single glass fuse on the side of the engine. Sometimes it's the wire connectors to the fuse...they get dirty.

Most Truck Part places have engine shut off cables...I picked one up from parts for trucks in Halifax. It has a red knob labeled "engine off" and a cable long enough for most applicationsyou can cut the cable down for an exact fit. Under 30 bucks.

I recently purchased a shut off cable at "Parts For Trucks" in Dartmouth NS. It has Engine Shut Off stamped right on the red pull knob. I had to cut thecable it of to shorten it for an exact fit, but otherwise am very pleased with it. Total cost was under $30 bucks.

We had a mild winter this year (first one in a few years...global warming is only a rumour in Canada) so I'm hoping for a decent summer this year. Should be a good year to do Atlantic Canada. I did the Bras d Or lakes last summer in July it was a little wet and cool (cold summer) but Aug w
I use pretty much any affordable synthetic grease I can get... and for oil, just synthetic motor oil. It's important to stick with the synthetics from what I've been told...as far as what brand, I don't believe it's terribly important...I buy mine at hardware and automotive stores.
The machine shop could not remove the broken screws either. Had to over drill
and go with h-coil inserts.

I just tried a 50-50 mix of acetone and power steering fluid on some ss screws
that were welded to a piece of aluminum (the latch mechanism for the small
overhead ports i'm getting remade thru hammerhead). Did not work, sheared off
both screws and had to take it to a machine shop.

Rich,
I don't believe I have a stop cable. Would the stop cable attach to a bracket
close to where the throttle cable connects to. I see a bracket where a cable
might attach to there, but no cable. As far as a cable knob, I don't see one
either. Below the engine panel and between the fuel gage
Like Josh, I find the tachometer is most useful for shifting the transmission.

what you want to happen while docking. Unfortunately, my tach just recently
