I have the hydraulic backstay on my ‘85 33/2, I believe I saw a late model 33/2
for sale with a split backstay, was surprised to see it, but wasn’t enough
visible in the pictures to figure out what/how it was done or even if it was
original to the boat or year of manufacture as I remember

I replaced the original with a a Raymarine (airmar) about 5 yrs ago. Just
centered the holesaw in the tapered hole and let loose, no problem. The hull
was NOT cored just forward of the keel on our full keeled 33-2 . About 3/4 inch

Have been surfing for an affordable way to build a better winter frame, came
across framemakerclamps.com. Anyone have any experience with these clamps?
Frame is built with 3/4 inch EMT, adjustable angle cross and tee clamps, looks
pretty good in the pictures.

ordered a new one from amazon, and an ez lock collar for the cord. Looks like
it's all going to fit, more or less, however when I took the inlet apart, 2 of
the rear enclosure mounting corners are broken off (plastic) and

I’m having an intermittent issue with the wind instrument on Pulse. I believe
it’s the i50 i60 package. It always shows digital wind speed on the display,

the mast and do the work horizontally rather than vertically. It's not as
intimidating as it seems.

I did as you and replaced the old pioneer stereo with a Kenwood, and pulled the
old wedge speakers out and replaced with Polk Audio Artium 4 outdoor speakers.
They were on sale last year at Futureshop/Bestbuy for $100 a pair so there's a

This year I found a plug in the bottom front of the muffler, drained that and
the strainer before I pumped antifreeze (Rv) through, thought was that the
antifreeze would be less diluted and it would require less fluid. It took one
and a half jugs to get pink stuff in the pail out back. I use the
We tried Goo Gone and contact cement solvent, and a few other things, the only
thing that worked was a product called Goof Off, bought at Canadian Tire.
Dampen a rag with it and hold it in place on the glue, it's takes a few minutes
to soften the original glue. Wear nitrile gloves and make very
+1 for the wheel and a second set of winches, that's how I sail my 33-2 single
handed

My 33-2 has the same bracket on the mast. My Cunningham is knotted at the first
fairlead, runs up through the cringle in the main and back down through the
other fairlead, through a change of direction and back through one of the
clutches. Should give you a rough 2 to 1 mechanical advantag

I use the marinas cone shaped rubber pump out fitting as I haven't been able to
find anything that fits. The standards seem to be 1-1/2 or 1-1/4 inch. I think

hydraulic shops around. Every o-ring imaginable is available locally and I
can't imagine it would be more than $10 or$15 for the parts to rebuild it plus
an hour or so of their time.

like the linkage to the input shaft won't fit the other way around, it will hit
the flywheel housing on the back of the engine, and the cable mount needs a BIG
re-alignment. I will have to go over to the yacht club and h

Did much the same last year, without radar, the "backbone" cable and the
terminal blocks make it easy. You need to run separate fused power to the
backbone, the mfd, and to the autopilot. IIRC you need to run a heavy ground
from the AP computer back to your main ground. There are adapter cables

cabinet under the galley sink, ran the line from the engine through the heater
with bypass valves, to the heat exchanger on the water heater. Bought a
compact all in one unit from Princess Auto. It has a small fan muc
the fittings the marina leaves out are pipe threaded, 1-1/4 and 1-1/2 inch pipe
thread with a 2 inch cam lock on the other end. neither of them fit our C&C the
thread size must be metric, if there is such a thing. Will work it out at the
boat show.

after exchanging photos with another lister, it appears that my clutches are
spinlok XA's and should handle the 3/8 line adequately. It looks like there are
parts available should I need to rebuild.

Replacing the original 7/16 halyards on our 1985 C&C 33 MKII. Got a GOOD price
on some 3/8 Warpspeed from W.M. Does anyone know what brand/size of halyard
clutches C&C used in '85? There is a set of double Schaefer clutches mounted
outboard of the original triples, either side of the companionw
I keep checking back to see if the status on the ball caps has changed, anyone
else want a C&C ballcap? Does it require a large order to have some made? How
about a pre-order? I'm in for 2
