We changed out the wiring for the wind instrument last summer on Pulse, our '85
33 MkII, it was enclosed in a plastic tube that was loose in the mast. It slid
down and captured the wiring harness as we were pulling the new down from the
top of the mast, took us 2 hours to figure out what had happened, and 15
minutes to finish once we solved the problem by jabbing an awl into the tube
through one of the slots where the halyards exit and levering it up. Would have
been ideal if we had taken the mast down.
Good luck.
