With all the work you want to do up the mast, you may find it easier to pull the mast and do the work horizontally rather than vertically. It's not as intimidating as it seems. Good time to check sheaves at masthead (replace the bushings) and update those lights to LED. How's the windvane? How about the wiring for those lights and instruments? Antenna? If the cable is original, replace it. Check the standing rigging yet? Did all that last spring with the mast on 3 sawhorses, only took a couple of days including wait time for new sheaves, would have been tough swinging from a sketchy halyard.
