No house calls. You have to disassemble and ship to them. The fittings
are hermetic and lossless so you just wrench them apart and ship. They fix
and recharge and ship it back.

Next, the pump is about 9-10 years old and was only used for 2 of that.
Ran fine during the early part of the summer, and now, it runs, but no suction.
Appears the repair kit runs from about $85.00 USD plus shipping to Canada ?$?
to about $190
Do they do house calls? I had a retired refrigeration guy come out to the
boat, check the entire system and recharge properly. $50. I may never be
that lucky again.

Dave, go the conductance route. It is a quick and easy way to test you
batteries, is as accurate as other methods and will not actively damage your
batteries, which is possible with the antiquated load test method.

I like the KISS method. Use a multimeter to check the battery when fully
charged. It should be about 12.5 volts. Check it when the engine is running
and it should be 13.5 volts or higher. If the battery cannot be recharged to
12.5 volts, it is probably bad. That is when you pull it out and
The best indicator of health IMO is the Amp-Hour capacity compared to the
manufacturers rating and historical measurement. Typically you would
measure them at a C/20 rate from 100% 50% so a 100AH battery would test at
5 amps for 10 hours.
The problem with typical resistance loads is that as the

Call nova cool. They have a program where the will recharge/refirb the

I don’t think anybody was hurt. Jamie said the owner was by himself and just

There is severe keel damage visible on the outside, but the real damage is

Some things to try:
1. Run the plotter off its own battery. Little 6 ah AGM batteries are
cheap enough if you don’t have a spare battery sitting around.
2. Put a scope on the DC bus to see what, if any, AC/noise is on the
line. Include an engine start with this.
3. Disconnect

The great thing about those pumps is that they are easy to refurbish. Just
replace the diaphragm and valves and you're done. Usually.

Well, they don't clog up as much with hair and crud. But sharp little
bits of crud will damage the diaphragm. And eventually you'll need to
replace the diaphragm.
People who don't replace diaphragms every now and then are called
mothers.
How old is the pump?
