I had to enlarge the hole in the deck, so I used a drum sander chucked in a
drill. Excellent controllable tool for grinding fiberglass, fast-cutting
and hard to screw up in a big way. I taped a bag inside to capture the
debris.

I looked at installing opening ports like the newer boats have. Opening ports
are nice but don't help much when the wind dies. I noticed several owners added
solar fans to their ports. So I decided to skip ports and installed 4 solar
fans to my boat. I selected two ICP models that have a s

Stevan,
no duty. You have to pay the HST (I assume ON) at the border (credit card is
fine). But you have to pay it (usually, they won’t let the transport company do
it), so you better be at the border or have the broker do it for you.

When I did this 10 years ago, the statement of origin I got from the

I had two set to exhaust on my 34+ many years ago. Mounted them in the aft
hatchs and then left the forward hatch slightly open. It did make a difference
on a boat with so-so ventilation.

I put one in the head to replace the passive UFO ventilator; I set it to
exhaust and it makes a noticeable difference in how the boat smells. There
is enough air getting in by other means to replace the air going out, which
is good since I'd hate to deflate my boat accidentally.
