Eric Baumes,
I recently purchased a 30 MK II wing keel. It appears you are in the NY
area. I sent you a private email regarding the 30 MKII for sale in Long
Island as I have had that boat surveyed and had it under deposit.
If your friend puts the boat under contract and then is not happy with t
We haven't raced Septima since the mid 90's at which time we flew a stock North dacron 130 and a North fb dacron main. On Barnegat Bay, 6 to 8 feet depths, good heat machine winds in PM, boat was competitive upwind, outpointing most of the phrf fleet. Downwind we would surf on the little waves
Neil,
Lake Erie is not higher than normal, but it is still above chart datum, which
is I suspect what you meant to say.

Chuck,
The issue is more than South Haven. All of Lake Michigan is feeling the
reduced precipitation of the last couple of years. The watershed for the
Great Lakes is much smaller than most realize. We have suffered a

Allen,
I’ve done all the window work myself. I don’t know of anyone locally that I
could recommend. You might try asking at Kay Gee Plastics.

In our area (Hudson River/Long Island Sound) the C&C 30 Mk II with the wing

Hi Eric,
I've owned a 30 Mk II for the last 14 years, PHRF in my area is 156
with the wing keel. I raced with it fairly successfully, my #1 is a 140 good
till about 12 knots true. My #2 is a 125 good till about 16 knots true. I've
sailed side by side with a friend that owns a fin kee
Eric,
Sorry about his loss!
The ONLY benefit to the wing keel is the shallow draft. It will not point
as well. Lots of Catalinas on the Chesapeake have them, which is one of
the reasons I own a C&C.
The 30 tall rigs are a little tender when the wind kicks up. The standard
rig will not break an
Hello,
A friend of mine is looking to replace his (also my old boat) beloved
Catalina 30 that was lost in Sandy.
He is looking at a 30 Mk 2 with a wing keel. I went with him to look at the
boat this weekend. The boat looks and sounds solid.
A few questions:
How are the sailing characteristics w
I lost this in the general hubbub.
Russ, I considered doing the 360, but it would cut seriously into my boat
prep time. We'll be at the C&C Rendezvous for Aug. 10-12, but should be in
Barkley Sound at the beginning of August.
I did manage to arrange the loan of charts from someone who isn't doing t
HI Andrew
Do you have a specific boat in mind. My 35 is for sale and it is well
equipped. My time sailing has changed and Ragtime is sitting at the dock far to
much. I have started Star sailing and my long time sailing friend has started
racing his J24. I will miss the 35 but it is a shame t
Jake,Can you recommend anyone in the Hampton VA area to rebond the windows on my 30-2. OMC did a lousy job and the windows are peeling out of the recesses after 4 years.Allen MilesS/V Septima-Original Message-
