Jim is spot on about the heat polishing. Crazes every time after a year or so depending in the amount if heat applied. All the windows I have done have been 1/4" or 3/8" and 1/2" for hatches. Cast bronze acrylic seems to work best and Lexan has always fared poorly with uv and mechanical damage

Just as a FYI, flame polishing will shorten the life of your windows since it stresses the material and starts micro-crazing at the edges. My choice for material would be bronze 3/8" cast acrylic or Lexan. Lexan is more flexible, stronger (and about 30% more expensive) but scratches more easily.
