Just a thought: the
Rich costing lift pump probably lasted at least 20 years. I suggest simply
replacing it instead of introducing a new bunch of components to fail, (and
stop if the power dies).

Hi. I need help selecting an inline lift (fuel) pump. While on our annual
vacation our engine (3HM30F) started acting funny. After running for 20+
minutes in the 2000-2200 rpm range the throttle would become unresponsive when
put back to idle. I would have to work the throttle to get the eng
I would imagine the problem with power washing off the bottom paint is the
amount of toxic runoff it would create and the difficulties in collecting it.

Just something to consider.
If you are a racer and choose to remove bottom paint with a sander, try to find
or rent a powered (air or electric) long board sander such as a Hutchins or

The reason? It's difficult to hold a smal

Thanks for all the replies.
Ebay has a Martec RH 12 x 10P - 1" Shaft for only $195.
It's right down the road (Green Cove Springs, FL).
I could haul the boat and install it there.
I wonder if the 12" diameter is way too small.
I don't do a lot of motoring, mainly just off and back onto the dock.

A pressure washer will not remove an ablative paint. When our boat is

I have been using Micron CSC for the past
Would a pressure washer work on a soft ablative paint? What psi would be

Hi Bob,
If it is ablative as stated, then you should be able to easily sand it off in
short time.I did my own bottom jab last Fall, and one of my best
investments was a good quality orbital sander. I purchased a Dewalt D26453K
on Amazon for $69. Using 60 grit disks, I was able to sand do

Bob,
I have no experience with any of these products. The last time I
stripped antifouling paint was in 1991 and after that, I swore I would
