I ve installed the debian package etch clamav (0.90...) and after some
googleling to add vscan-samba, I've updated the package from
debian/volatile project to version 0.93.
vscan-samba works fine with the test-signature :)
But... at startup (and at virus base refresh) clamd takes about 2

maybe I should do a aptitude uninstall clamav ... and install it again.
I'll try as soon as I can !

you should add volatile debian archive to your sources ...

It's done but my first install was from normal debian source.
After, I ve added volatile and done an update but it seams there is some
issue with some dependencies ;p
for info I ve done some reboot...
can a ldconfig help after an update ?

unless you want to take care about this always, it's better to use binary
distribution.

you want to scan locally on a machine the received items? For the

problem solved :
I don't known why but just doing an aptitude update; aptitude upgrade
even with volatile dep hasn't fully update all clamav stuff.
I had to remove clamav-base and libclamav2 an reinstall clamav
clamav-daemon and I got a libclamav4...
now reading viral base takes just a
