hi,

I ve installed the debian package etch clamav (0.90...) and after some googleling to add vscan-samba, I've updated the package from debian/volatile project to version 0.93.

vscan-samba works fine with the test-signature :)

But... at startup (and at virus base refresh) clamd takes about 20 minutes at nearly 100% CPU to read the virus base.

During this time clamd is not reachable (no socket).

Ok the server is a chip 2 core celeron (my project is a low cost secure file server).

So I had to schedule viral base update at only 1 time a day...

20 minutes : does it sound correct ?

best regards

PS :
- the server has some nsswitch and pam ldap feature to ease samba admin.
- the server runs on linux soft mirroring raid.
