Given that it’s April 1st, I’m gonna say you should just autoclave it.
Or more seriously, back in the day we used to use 0.05% sodium azide, which
kept the bugs at bay pretty well. Obviously this can be problematic for heme
proteins, but in general it’s worth considering.

Hi Gloria,
We use Millipore Millex PVDF 0.22 to filter our mAbs so we can perform
growth inhibition assays with our various plasmodium cultures. We do this
by syringe in a sterile hood.
We keep our sterile filter mAbs at 4C though for about 6 months. We also
freeze them and /or lyophilize them for
Dear all,
We are looking for an enthusiastic postdoc to join our team to investigate the
mechanism of transcription-coupled splicing. The project aims to understand the
crosstalk between the transcription and splicing machineries using a combined
biochemical and structural approach with a focus
Thank you for all the replies with various suggestions and guidelines. We will
adjust our workflows, and let’s hope the clogging will not appear (at least not
so often).
Best regards

Hello Dear Friends in Structural Biology, We need to store a protein at RT
and I think it would be best to sterile filter it. Does anyone do this?
What filters do you use?
Diversely yours! Gloria
