After writing such a long text (sorry), I completely forgot to say that this configuration can hopefully be made in one place such that it must not be done in each build job. And yes, I know that fetching artifacts and other stuff takes time and costs resources, but there are very effective ways to

Hi Greg, Thanks for the background. I assume that adding more disk space is cost-prohibitive? What would happen if builds.a.o went away and projects had to request and use a VM with their own Jenkins instance? IIRC, the issue for my projects might be that VMs are currently only available as

Hello all, A bit of background on why Gavin is proposing this "time to culling" policy, is because we have been battling disk space issues on the Jenkins slaves for the past month or so. This suggested policy is needed to keep the nodes *useful*. If stuff gets culled, then it will just take builds

Thanks Allen, Some of our nodes are only 364GB in total size, so you can see that this is an issue. For the H0-H12 nodes we are pretty fine currently with 2.4/2.6TB disks - therefore the urgency is on the Hadoop nodes H13 - H18 and the non Hadoop nodes. I propose therefore H0-H12 be trimmed on a

You are trading latency for disk space here. Just how long are you proposing that workspaces be kept for - considering that the non hadoop nodes are running out of disk every day and workspaces of projects are exceeding 300GB in size, that seems totally over the top in order to keep a local cache
