yes i run FreeBSD Current with screen patched.
i confirm this point, without libiconv defined, brltty displays garbage
when setting the LANG and CHARSET variables other than "C"
but it start fine with the default lang and charset of the system.
this was my problem
:"Eurobraille Esys"
does not start anymore.

as i said, the patch was applied to screen-4.0.3 port taken on freebsd ports.
to apply it to macports i must refactor it.

It compile quite well on FreeBSD.

stiil garbage.
tried the baum driver, of course in conjunction with the baum protocol on the
display.
as you can see in the log, brltty cannot initialize display.
what to do in this case?
