I verified this point:
as you can see in the attached files:
brltty 5.1 ane 4.5 send the same command:
’S' ‘I'

brltty-4.5 receives "esys 40" while 5.1 does not.

i suspect a timing problem;
so here is my question:

how and where "int wait and int timout”0 are they defined?

i looked at system_linux and replaced the value 500 with even 2000

without success:  no detection.
"i work first on debian”, i am pretty sure that solving the problem on debian,
may solve the problem on other platforms.

if you  have another analyze, pleas e, tell me .
